Nightbus

Checkout day.  My fun in Kyoto had come to an end.  7 days went by very quickly.  I packed my stuff and went downstairs.  Nori asked me to hang around for a bit.  All the guests were leaving at about the same time.  I took a selfie with Nori and Saki, a girl I had met the day before at the house.  Nori had me and another guest doodle on a whiteboard to keep for his guest album and post to his blog.  Afterwards we talked for a bit and said our thank yous and goodbyes and I headed out.

The only thing I had scheduled was my bus ride at 11:45pm.  Its a nightbus that has seats specifically for sleeping and runs only overnight.  This meant I had time to kill.  I spent a good hour and a half grabbing food at a bakery down the road and then sitting at Starbucks.  I got one cheese bread that was great, but got a macha bread thinking it was melin bread instead.  Im machad out, and I didn't care for the bitterness, but it was still pretty good and filling.

Next I headed to the International Manga Museum.  Nori had given me a discount card for 20 percent off.  When I got there the gate was shut "Closed on Wednesdays".  Dangit everything else is closed Mondays here.

So instead I went shopping and thrifting.  Saw a lot of neat stuff didn't really get anything.  I went to a couple Magic Card/Game Stores which was fun.  Bought some sleeves that aren't available in the U.S. yet, but I won't go into detail because only a couple people reading this would be interested in plastic card sleeves.

McDonalds was a good hangout spot for lunch as the tv have seats, wifi, and a wall charger.  Sticking to my plan of not eating norm things I got a Grand Garlic Pepper burger setto.  It was really garlicky.  I think I would like it more if they toned ut down a bit.  Around 8:45ish I started heading to the station to get there plenty early and make sure I knew the right stoo.  It took me longer than it should have because I didn't realize the stop number was listed in my ticket.

Still with a couple hours to burn I went in the shops by the station.  There was a Donkihote in it which was great.  I was kinda looking for a compass in the off chance they had one.  Its like if someone took a Walmart and crammed it into the space of a Walgreens and then added Rolex watches and sex toys.  Its a very strange and fantastic place.

On the upper mall floor was a book store, an area for crane games, an anime shop, and a game and figure shop.

After that I went over tooo...another McDonalds.  Same deal, charging phone, sitting.  However, I got the full McDonalds experience this time because they got my order wrong.  I ordered the Teriyaki Fried Chicken Sandwich and got the normal Fried Chicken Sandwich.  It worked out ok because I liked it and the sauce was good.

At any rate, boring day to describe, but the Bus came on time.  I walked up with my ticket on my phone and the driver was like, Is this you? And pointed to the only english name on the list.  Yup.  I got in my seat and managed to get 5 hours of decent sleep.  There was a lot of construction on the roads and it delayed the trip by 1.5 hours.  After getting to Odawara Station, I had to transfer onto a local bus to get to Hakone.  I'm %95 sure I'm on the right bus.  But I'll find out and post next time.

My plan for the day is:  get to hakone, hope ththe clouds clear so I can see Mt Fuji, go to the reconstructed hakone checkpoint, visit the shrine by the lake, use an onsen, possibly eat a disgusting black egg that will add 10 years to my life, and then finally go to Tokyo at night and find an internet cafe.

Ill have to do pictures later, no wifi.
