I picked a place to have brunch/lunch with good reviews that serves A5 Wagyu beef nearby. It turns out I had passed it several times before when shopping around Akihabara as its right below the KFC I was hanging out at. Jiramaru is a standing bar with about 8 spots. You pick out a drink and side if you want either, and then order meat. They light a gas grill in front of you and you cook the meat. There are a few sauces for dipping, but I just used a little salt. The guy running it was really great, and I told him I`d start with 4 pieces of whatever he recommends and a beer. He picked out 4 different pieces that were fantastic. Each side gets gets grilled for approximately a minute for a sear, then I`d eat it as is or with just a little bit of salt. The fat inside was enough flavor where it didn`t need seasoning, it was really fantastic. I had a second round and he served up 4 new slices of different stuff. I don`t know what cuts they were in particular, but all delicious. I took a picture of the meat choices and they`re all either A4 or A5 grade (max delicious fattiness). It was a great way to start the day and was way cheaper than I was expecting. Each piece was about 3.50.
After that I headed to Don Quijote for some quality shopping. First order of business was to get a suitcase that could hold stuff. I opted for a duffel bag that felt pretty sturdy. At about half the cost of a hard case I could put my clothes and unbreakable stuff in it, and use my carry-on for more fragile stuff. I picked up some random shtuff and went to walk around some more. I looked in a lot of the video game stores and card stores again. Picked up a few cards, and got a pair of Gameboy games, not too much. I checked out the arcades again to see if any crane games piqued my interest, not really.
After more wandering it was already getting late. I decided to hit up Kikanbo Ramen one more time. Barely got through it, so good though.
That`s really pretty much it for the day. I`m back at Popeye for the last time. I`ll have to get up pretty early since I`m unsure of the airport layout and I have to take a train over. So probably around 5:30 I`ll leave. The plane takes off at 10:40, so it should give me plenty of time.
Thanks to everyone reading and following along on my trip! I had an absolutely wonderful time but I`m excited to be back home. Doing the blog was a good way for me to keep track of stuff and helped me plan things for the next day. I might do a follow-up post or two on anything I would have changed gear or trip-wise, and maybe a cheat-sheet list of recommendations that I enjoyed the most for anyone interested in visiting similar places.
See Ya Later!
Glad you had a wonderful trip! Jordan
