Ate some airplane food, landed in Athens at 10 am local, or 2am CT. After going through customs we started looking for the train into town. We had to transfery at Syntygma Square. There was some music and dance and motorcycle thing happening there and I got a free Heineken. Sarah was worse for the wear at this point. The motion of the train didnt help and first time in another country is a lot of stress.
Got on the next train and walked about 10 minutes to get to the hotel. The guy running it is super nice, gave us the wifi info and chatted for a bit. He showed us their elevator which is a lot like the willy wonka room where they get stuck in it. It is very small, we managed to squeeze in with our bags, and theres not really a door for the elevator. Like u can touch the wall if u want to lose a finger while its moving. Then when we got to the 4th floor the door didnt open, no knob. Very confused. Pushed the button to go down to 3, same result so this time i pushed on the door harder, and that worked.
Room has a very nice view, good wifi, working shower and ac so very pleased. Gonna sleep now and wake up for food before sleeping more.
