Got on the train for Hamburg and had seats on the upper level. Pretty smooth ride got to look at the cojntryside for a little while. Once we got off we asked the info booth on getting passes and bought some 3 day tourist passes for most transport in Hamburg, got on the underground and then headed out to the hotel. Its in Speicherstadt which is the Warehouse District. Back in the late 1800s was used as a way to exchange goods while avoiding paying customs (due to an agreement thats easier to wiki)
About the same time we dropped off our stuff, my until now online friend Emil stopped by. Sarah took a nap while we played some cards in the room. Got to hear boats honking a bit as the room overlooks the canals that run through.
After a bit we headed out for a quick tour, bite to eat, and some coffee. Emil <3 but youre a speed demon. Sarah and I are shorties so our legs so we tried to keep up. Saw the outside of a couple churches and a large lake in the middle of the city. Got to ask stupid questions and mispronounce plenty of German words. Stopped for some quick food. Emil and I had currywurst and Sarah had bratwurst. Easy and tasty. We were running a bit late after getting coffee and got on a train to Kira, Emil's girlfriends place which north a ways but just one train out from where we are.
Met her and Sebastion (a friend of Kira's) and ate some homemade pizza and drank and chatted and had a good time. Also got we'd brough along a root beer for Emil and he cracked it open to see if hed like. (Root beer not being a thing in Europe). Verdict was its ok, though Sebastion liked it.
Played a couple games: "Wizard" was a really fun game once we gotthe hang of it. Card game with rounds and point totalling. Did some Cards Against Humanity and called it a night close to midnight. Thanks for the time! Will be hanging out with them tomorrow as well. Time to sleep its 1:45am...
